Would you be happy to see your doctor online?

Growing numbers of patients seem to be attracted by the convenience. And doctors are also finding it useful as health services come under pressure from growing and ageing populations.

What are the benefits? Can you see any problems with this potential strategy?

This is a great talking point. Let's hear your thoughts!

  1. I would be happy to see mine online with perhaps minor issues but I think if its anything really concerning I would like to see him in person.

    1. Yes, I’ve been giving this a bit of thought today since I posted this link and I think I agree with your thoughts. I suppose I relate it to teaching in some ways. Could you get the full learning experience without the lecturer present? No, but online you can get extra info, or supplementary goodies if you were unable to attend. Then again, what might seem like something easily diagnosed by a doctor online could be found to be something a little more sinister after a physical examination. In principle though, I certainly wouldn’t have an objection discussing with a doctor online. Thanks for your thoughts Lorraine.

  2. Maybe more beneficial to doctors as one said in the US " it's clean and effective". She definitely is not a fan of catching any colds and other nasty stuff from patients.( I don't blame her). The diagnosis can be way off too with " artificial intelligence" which could be detrimental to one's immediate health.
