Hello loyal readers! Below are two really useful links on time management strategies. They are worth a look, especially as I am such an ad...
This is interesting and something some of us discussed in class yesterday. The issue in my opinion is that there isn’t enough help for people at any stage in their lives with mental health. Children are being bullied and told to “man up”, not being supported and often don’t know where to turn. At the other side of the scale the amount of elderly people who commit suicide due to mental health is extrodinary and infact there is more instances of elderly suicides than any other age group, again not a lot of help out there. I appreciate you need to want the help but when i searched for resources in suicide amongst the elderly there was very little out there. It seems we need to get people as soon as we can irrespective of their age but reassure people it’s okay not to be coping. We need more money in the system to help more people.
ReplyDeleteInsightful and measured comments as always Lorraine, and you’ve pinpointed a few things I didn’t know. Harrowing stuff but an important issue to discuss. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteMark, we are looking to discuss these issues as part of raising awareness in college so hopefully it can educate others and perhaps help them to be mindful that mental health can affect everyone regardless of age.
ReplyDeleteThat’s wonderful. And well done on highlighting these issues as a class to a wider audience.
